Whew. Wedding season is over!

After a July trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, we spent the summer celebrating engagements, weddings and new babies with friends and family and house-hunting in the East Bay when we had free weekend days. After looking at 27 apartments/houses, it was evident that there is "no place like home" and we are re-nesting for the time being in our lovely home at 478 Funston. Dave started law school at UC Berkeley in mid-August, and we're getting into a new groove.

We are truly blessed with loving family and friends. Thank you to everyone who traveled to San Francisco to share in our wedding celebration, and thank you for your generous support and love and thoughtful gifts.

We've posted lots of photos here in the Photos section. One wedding album contains highlights from the voluminous chronicle by our photographer Sarah Peet, and the other contains a compilation from photos sent to us by family and friends that includes wedding events like the Thursday meet-up at Le Colonial, the Friday rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at Greens and the Sunday evening "who's left in town" all-you-can-eat pizza chow down at Local. We've also posted the readings and vows from our ceremony as well as a snippet of photos from our trip to Hawaii.

If you have photos from any of the wedding events (including bachelor / bachelorette weekends in Reno/Vegas respectively) that you haven't sent to us PLEASE send them along. We'd love to include them in our archive. Please! Thank you!

Thank you to both of our parents - Ray and Chris Tompkins and John and Jane Goetz for your love and examples of marriage. We appreciate your genuine support and the joyful way you have celebrated the beginning of our new life together. We love you!

We are grateful to our dear friends for their help with our event. Ed Patuto was our delightful and fantastic officiant (and David his able stage manager). Lauren and Andy, Cheryl and Marco, Kathleen and John, Anthony and Julie were our friendly greeters. Steve and Fiona, Anne and Danny were our "flower power" delivering the blooms from our house to the event. Lina and Mark were the "drum majors" who led the parade. Staci and Sarah were the "paparazzi" who made sure everyone signed the polaroid guest book. Julie Morgan and Brigid set up the croquet and bocce, but we think everyone was too busy drinking and dancing to notice the games. The bride's sister Kalah was the best Maid of Honor a sister could hope for. Thank you for the perfect girls' getaway weekend in Vegas and all of your love and generosity. Kalah and the groomsmen, Dave's brothers, Robert and John, delivered the touching and thoughtful toasts at our celebration. The brothers and Anthony also pulled together a pretty swinging dude's weekend in Reno for Dave. The bride's Aunt Linda was "jill of all trades" making sure that items and people got where they needed to go on time and in one piece (and that everyone got paid!). Thanks to Suzy's cousin Mardell for the initial restoration work on the bride's mother's dress and to Dana Schuman for overseeing the tayloring through many fittings with Gloria Santa Cruz at Marin Fashion in Novato. You should have seen the dress when we first unboxed it at Grandma's house - what a tremendous transformation and a joy and privilege to wear. Thank you, Grandma!

We'd also like to thank our photographers, Sarah Peet and Patrick O'Connor, our band the Brass Mafia, Carole Zipperman and Big City Catering, El Tonayense (yay taco truck!), Schubert's Bakery (on Clement St. - since 1911), Sandy and Amanda at Golden Gate Park, Bill at Mike's Liquors, Josh A. and Carey B. for the fun tunes at the after party, The Mad Dog in the Fog, Ashley Pier and Greens Restaurant, Joseph and staff at Local Kitchen and Wine Merchant, Bill/Seth and the crew at Copymat, and the helpful staff at many PaperSource stores.

Thank you again for your love and well wishes.

With love,
Duzy
